Receipt Swap

No, that's not a typo for recipe. With all my dietary restrictions, recipe swaps are of no interest. However, what could be more cool for an ephemera junkie like me than someone else's papers? You were to send your partner a minimum of 3 receipts to use for crafting purposes or just for fun. The latter is my case.

I find a lot of receipts at my work from all over the place. I get a kick out of reading where they're from, what time the person who dropped it was there, etc. so it was really a blast for me to participate in this swap. How cool it was to see one from a library book sale! You can see the envelope it came in was recycled, which really tickled my fancy as well.

I hope the host does it again, I will definitely sign up!

Fat Quarters Swap

Swap-bot swap: Fat quarters
I swap with Swap-bot!

I think I truly hit the jackpot on this one. My swap partner sent beautiful fabrics, each one perfect for me in some way, along with a delicately woven lace bookmark in my favorite color.

But back to the fabric. Those jungle prints are AMAZING! I'm not a quilter, but I'm encouraging myself to make a mini quilt with them. I have some carved giraffes and other jungle animals in my bedroom that would be so enhanced with something like that displayed on the wall above them. Wish me luck!

Have you heard of Swap-Bot?

Oh my. It is my new fascination. I joined less that two weeks ago and have already done several swaps. I should have photographed the ones I already sent but I hadn't decided to blog about it yet. But I will from now on.

Pictured are the first two postcards I received as swaps. I'm so thrilled with them! The first features a kitty that looks like one of mine and the second? Can you read that title? The ABCs of Living Green! Did these partners do a fabulous job of sending something I would love or what? And it wasn't even what is referred to on Swap-Bot as a 'profile based' swap. It was sender's choice and they still went out of their way to send something that would make me smile. How cool was that?

Have you heard of Recyclebank?

I have recently enrolled in Recyclebank's program. I haven't redeemed for any Rewards yet, so I can't really speak as to how long shipping takes, etc. There are, however, print-at-home rewards, which is nice! For the sake of transparency, that is a personalized link. Should you enroll through it, I would get a referral.

I say, anything that encourages good stewardship of the Earth is worth a look.
